Examples of Chemical Change Include:

  • Rusting
  • burning
  • two or more substances combining to form a kind of matter (backing soda + vinegar = carbon dioxide)
  • explosions (including controlled explosions such as the burning of rocket fuel)
  • cooking (cooking of meats and eggs.  Baking of bread or cookies)

Signs of a Chemical Change:

  • bubbling
  • fizzing
  • creation of a new kind of matter – like a gas
  • color change
  • temperature change
  • flames
