Making Change
Physical and chemical changes from class. Which is which?
Paper Mash ‘n Smash
What happens when we Mash ‘n Smash a sheet of paper tens of times? Check it out.
The paper is being changed physically. The first noticeable change is of texture. The more mashes and smashes we inflict upon the paper, the softer the paper becomes. Additionally, tiny pieces of the paper are falling off the main sheet. These dust particles are example of a change of position. The important thing to remember is that all we are doing is changing how the paper is, NOT what it is.
